Your Wallet on Fanbase

Your wallet is how you receive payments and pay for content on Fanbase. When a fan tips you or unlocks your content, the funds go straight to your wallet. When you want to support a creator, funds come out of yours.

What is a crypto wallet?

A crypto wallet lets you hold, send, and receive cryptocurrency. Unlike a bank account, you control it directly. Nobody can freeze it or block your access to your own money.

On Fanbase, your wallet is how you:

  • Receive payments from fans
  • Pay to unlock creator content
  • Send tips to creators you support
  • Hold your earnings

Getting a wallet

Option 1: Sign up with email (easiest)

When you sign up with your email, Fanbase creates a wallet for you automatically. No crypto knowledge needed. Your wallet is secured by Dynamic, our authentication partner, and you can export your private key at any time from the Manage dialog under Account & Security.

Option 2: Connect your own wallet

If you already have a crypto wallet, you can connect it when you log in. Just select your wallet type, approve the connection, and you're good to go.

Supported wallets

Fanbase works with many wallets through Dynamic:

Browser wallets

  • MetaMask
  • Coinbase Wallet
  • Rainbow
  • Rabby

Mobile wallets

  • Trust Wallet
  • Phantom (Solana + EVM)
  • Coinbase Wallet

WalletConnect

Any wallet that supports WalletConnect can connect to Fanbase too.

Email wallets

Don't have a wallet yet? Sign up with email and one is created for you. You stay in control of the keys.

Multi-chain support

Your Fanbase account can have wallets on multiple chains. You can set a different primary wallet for each network under Settings > Wallet, so payments automatically go to the right place.

EVM chains

  • Base — Coinbase's Layer 2, with fees under $0.01 and fast settlement. Recommended for most users.
  • Ethereum — The most established network. Higher fees, but the highest security for large amounts.

Your EVM wallet address is the same on both Base and Ethereum, so you don't need separate wallets for each.

Solana

Fast transactions with fees under $0.001. Solana uses a different address format from EVM chains, so you'll have a separate Solana wallet.

The wallet dialog

The wallet dialog is where you manage your funds on Fanbase. Open it by clicking your balance in the header or in the sidebar. From there you can:

  • See your token balances across all connected wallets
  • Switch between wallets using the dropdown
  • Copy your wallet address (click the copy icon next to the wallet name)
  • Deposit funds via Manual Deposit (QR code + address) or Smart Deposit (powered by Mesh, connects to 300+ platforms)
  • Manage your wallets (add or remove) through Dynamic's wallet management

Depositing funds

To pay for content or send tips, you need funds in your wallet. Click Deposit in the wallet dialog to get started.

You can deposit manually by sending crypto to your wallet address (shown as a QR code and copyable text), or use Smart Deposit to pull funds directly from an exchange or wallet through Mesh.

For detailed instructions, see the deposit guide. We also have network-specific guides for Base, Ethereum, and Solana.

Choosing where you get paid

If you have multiple wallets connected, go to Settings > Wallet to pick which wallet receives payments on each network. If you only have one wallet, payments go there automatically.

Transaction history

All your past transactions are in the Transactions page, accessible from the sidebar. You can filter by reason, date range, or search for specific entries. Each transaction shows who was involved, what it was for, the amount, and a link to the block explorer.

Exporting your private key

If you signed up with email or social login, Fanbase created an embedded wallet for you. You can export its private key if you want to use it elsewhere (like importing into MetaMask or a hardware wallet). To do this, click Manage in the wallet dialog, then go to Account & Security > Export Private Key.

External wallets (ones you connected yourself) are already under your control — you manage the keys through your own wallet app.

Moving funds out

Since your wallet is self-custodial, your funds are yours to move whenever you want. To cash out or transfer funds, use your wallet app directly (MetaMask, Phantom, etc.) or access your embedded wallet through its exported keys. From there you can send to an exchange like Coinbase or Binance to convert to your local currency, or transfer to another wallet.

Security

Protect your keys

If you use an embedded wallet, your keys are secured by Dynamic through your login. If you exported them or use an external wallet:

  • Never share your private keys or seed phrase with anyone
  • Store backups in secure, offline locations
  • Consider a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor for large amounts

Verify addresses

Always double-check addresses before sending crypto. Transactions on the blockchain are irreversible.

Enable 2FA

Use two-factor authentication on any exchanges you use to fund your wallet.

Troubleshooting

Transaction not showing

  • Check the block explorer using your transaction hash
  • Make sure you sent to the correct network
  • Allow a few minutes for confirmation

Wrong network

If you sent funds to the wrong network:

  • Same address on a different EVM chain (e.g., Ethereum instead of Base): usually recoverable since the address is the same
  • Sent to the wrong address entirely: funds cannot be recovered

Wallet won't connect

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Make sure your wallet extension is installed and unlocked
  • Try a different browser or disable conflicting extensions
  • Clear your browser cache
